Church of the Incarnation – Mantua, NJ is looking for a Music Director (half time) with strong keyboard and vocal skills to lead a ministry comprised of over 100 people. This position includes accompanying at Mass, directing choirs, occasional solo singing and coordinating with the other parish musicians. To begin early August. Hours per week 

20 (10 contact / 10 administrative) 

Contact Time Duties 

(Time Spent at the Church rehearsing and at Liturgies) 

2 weekly Liturgies 

Sun 8 and 11 or Sat 5 and Sun 5 

2 weekly choir rehearsals 

Tues or Wed evening 7:15-8:45 

Sunday Mornings from 9-11 

2 weekly meeting with cantors and other singers for group lessons/training prior to choir rehearsal 

1-2 Liturgies for each Feast Day as determined by the Pastor and 

the Minister of Music 

Administrative Duties 

(Time spent at the Church or from Home office planning and communicating) 

• Institute the Incarnation Music Vision Five Year Plan 

• Scheduling Music Ministers, Cantors, and Choirs for Liturgy 

• Recruitment and expansion of Adult Choir (HS age and up) 

• Communication with parishioners and music personnel via phone and e-mail 

• Communicating with Clergy and Staff regarding direction of music ministry 

• Coordinating Music for special parish events and feast days 

• Oversee Maintenance of Parish Music Equipment and Instruments 

• Maintaining professional knowledge particularly in studies and publications pertaining to Liturgical Music. 

• One monthly meeting with the Liturgy Committee or Parish Council 

• Providing extra guidance for interested musicians in the parish 

• Coordination with other Parishes and Universities for community outreach and choir festivals 

• Ordering and Planning Music
